Syndicate

Syndicate is a narrative-driven 3D side-scroller horror game set in an abandoned orphanage inspired by The Carlile House, an abandoned orphanage located in Grey Lynn, Auckland. Play as Forty-Six, a forgotten soul seeking answers to buried mysteries. Our team of three aimed to create an immersive experience focused on environmental storytelling and psychological horror over jump scares. Built in Unity 3D with assets from Maya and ZBrush, the game uses eerie lighting, unsettling sounds, puzzles, and diary entries to reveal themes of trauma, redemption, and loss. Syndicate leaves a lasting impression as you discover the souls of the past and help give voice to those who were once lost.
